Austin:
Detective Telisha Austin, native of Mississippi, graduated in the top percentage of her class from the police academy in San Diego, California where she remained for several years working homicide cases. The detective arrives back in Mississippi after growing tired of the “big city” crime life. She transfers to the local police department in Arielleville, Mississippi, and is quickly appointed the precinct’s "head detective". After only a few short weeks on the job, Detective Austin is assigned to the suicide case of Joseph Reed, Jr., a local businessman. The detective takes on the case to tie up any loose ends that might be surrounding his tragic death. As she seeks out Joseph’s relatives to inform them of his untimely demise, she stumbles upon the family’s dark history that opens up an even darker world, leading the detective into a most dangerous and deadly investigation.
Joseph Reed, Jr.:
Joseph Jr. was director of a lazar-graphics department at a local cooperation in Arielleville. As told by Helen (Joseph’s aunt) and Bailey (his brother-in-law) Joseph Jr. was somewhat of an introvert. He lived alone on the out skirts of town and was very discreet about his private life. His life ends abruptly when he succumbs to dark evils and secrets within him, which leads him to suicide.
Bailey:
Officer Twain Bailey is husband to Lisa Bailey and a devoted member of the Shakindoo Knights. With his slender build and 80’s retro look, Bailey is tagged the caricature for fictional Mayberry’s deputy Fife. But with his hard work ethics and a strong determination, he’s out to prove all his doubters and mockers wrong. Even with such a determined drive, Bailey longs to find his true identity as he struggles between being a good officer, perfect husband, and loyal follower to the Shakindoo organization.
Helen:
Helen Reed is a member of the prominent Reed family in Ariellville, Mississippi. Helen is sister to Reverend Joseph Reed. She is a well-learned woman in her late 50’s. The locals discern Helen as the “sweet, warm auntie,” but she has a dark side. Helen is the ruthless leader of a dark and murderous organization. Inside her frail, old frame, Helen holds information and secrets that just may bring an end to society, as we know it.
Rod:
Detective Roderick “Rod” Smith graduated from the police academy in San Diego, California with Detective Austin, where the two were later stationed together and partnered as homicide detectives. They became very good friends over the years. Rod is more of a “street-smart” cop than an “academy-trained” detective. He arrives in Arielleville after breaking off the engagement with his fiancé in San Diego. Once in Arielleville, Rod lands a job at the precinct with his ex-partner, and the two quickly find differences in their relationship that may bring a feuding end to their friendship.
Reverend Reed:
Reverend Joseph Reed is the southern Baptist minister of a local church in Arielleville, and father of Joseph Reed, Jr., and Lisa Bailey. Reverend Reed, considered affluent in the small town of Arielleville, holds onto a small fortune passed down to him from his father. The Reverend is divorced from his children’s mother, Beatrice Reed, whom he continuously have heated debates with over Joseph Reed, Jr., land deeds; deeds the Reverend deem as worthless but stubbornly refuses to turn over to her.
Lisa:
Lisa Bailey is a journalist turned housewife to Twain Bailey. Her beauty singes the hearts and minds of most men she encounters. Lisa feigns the clueless dame when in fact she is quite clever, and cold if she need be. Her love for her family, friends, journalism, and “another” spark tremendous flames once her web of deceit is revealed to all.
Beatrice:
Beatrice Reed is a beautiful and breath-taking diva residing in Memphis, Tennessee. She had separated from Reverend Reed years earlier when their son and daughter where too young to remember much about her. She shows up in Arielleville after hearing of her son’s suicide. She is outraged by the tragic incident, and believes foul play is present in her son’s death. Beatrice plans vengeance to whomever she believe is responsible for Joseph Jr.’s, death, no matter what the cost.
