Sacred Ground
The story takes place in Arielleville, a small town in the Mississippi Delta with a population of “everybody knows everybody”. For passers-by and drifters, Arielleville is the archetype of a small southern town. The people breathe out hospitality, the summer days are smothering hot and humid, and locals revel at the mention of an “in-town” trip no matter what the purpose might be. But Arielleville is far from typical.
The story surrounds Detective Austin, a well-learned and decorated detective in San Diego, California, who decides to move back to her native state; Mississippi. She’s assigned to the suicide case of one Joseph Reed Jr, a local businessman labeled introvert that comes from a prominent family in Arielleville. While trying to tie-up the loose ends to this case, Austin is quickly engulfed in a bizarre investigation that plots murder, betrayal, kid napping, and a heated love-triangle that just might jeopardize her entire case.
Follow Detective Austin as she finds herself faced against supernatural entities, and placed in some of the most compromising and deadly situations.
Sacred Ground is the epitome of surprise endings.

Strange things happen..., July 30, 2007
Detective Telisha Austin moves from San Diego to the small Mississippi delta town of Arrieleville, Mississippi where she is assigned to look into the suicide of Joseph Reed, Jr, a member of a prominent family. Arrieleville is a town where everybody knows everyone else and there are no secrets. Or are there? SACRED GROUND by Timothy Hollins is Detective Austin's emersion into the culture of small town politics and secrets. At first it appears no one really cares that Joseph has killed himself, not even his own family, but as Austin digs deeper and deeper, she uncovers horrifying mysteries that may have been best left buried. A co-worker of Joseph's, Author Lee, whom Austin has interviewed recently, is found dead and mutilated a short time after the interview and the plot thickens. Detective Austin is led to a strange cult that practices quietly in the town, but no one ever mentions it. Soon supernatural things begin happening and the fight between good and evil is on with the unsuspecting detective caught squarely in the middle. Will she live long enough to solve the murders that have begun plaguing this small town?
Timothy Hollins has woven an intricate tale of greed, envy and just plain wickedness as the detective searches for answers from people who don't want to cooperate. There are many dead ends and twists as she fumbles her way through the frightened, as well as scary, people. Strange phenomenon help create the mystery and intrigue, along with the every day, normal occurrences. The characters are developed and come to life as they play out this terrible charade. In addition, to add a bit of spice, a love triangle is going on that may hinder the investigation. It is a frightening, yet mysterious one. I would recommend it even to those who may not think they like the paranormal.
